THE UNION OF STONE AND SOIL

The story of Tolguhoun Naturals is a tapestry woven from the resilient stone of the Scottish Highlands and the delicate botanical soul of the glens. Our lineage traces back to 1420, beginning with the storied union of Sir John of the High Crag and Mariota of the Low Valleys—a marriage that first unified the wild, herb-filled geography of Tolguhoun.

We are the descendants of the High Crag. For Clan Tolguhoun, survival was never guaranteed—it was built. Our clan was forged in a land of jagged granite peaks and wild terrain. We don’t just create skincare; we build Stone-Strong protective barriers for those who face the elements.

Our Mission: From the heart of the Clan’s original mandate – build a legacy that could never be withered.

THE 'BLOOD AND STONE' TRADITION

1651: THE BATTLE OF THE MISTS

battle of the mists 1651

Our philosophy was proven in 1651 during the Battle of the Mists. Vastly outnumbered in a narrow, choking gully, Sir Alexander Duncreag led his men with a tactical grit born of the earth. Legend says he bolstered his warriors with a tincture of Wild Thyme and Honey from the castle’s stillroom to sharpen their senses and ignite their courage. They held the pass against ten times their number, birthing our Blood and Stone tradition.

FROM HIGHLANDS TO HIGHVELD

Today, we remain the guardians of the original Stillroom Ledgers. These secret recipes, sustained for six centuries, have travelled from the mist-shrouded Highlands to the sun-drenched landscapes of the Highveld of South Africa.

The spirit of the Duncreag Sept endures. We no longer build stone fortresses, but we apply that same unyielding defensive mindset to every balm and tincture we produce.
