Burdock Root Cut
INCI: Artium lappa
Rich in minerals that act as a natural duiretic (promotes sweating and urination). The diuretic action relieves the soreness and swelling caused by arthritis, rheumatism, sciatica and lumbago.
Often taken internally as a tea.
Burdock root uses
- Internally the tea helps to relieve the soreness and swelling caused by arthritis, rheumatism, sciatica and lumbago
- Externally the cooled tea is used to assist in the treatment of skin problems such as eczema, psoriasis, haemorrhoids and even canker sores
- For the treatment of acne, you can use burdock as a face wash. Apply cooled tea to the skin with a washcloth and rinse with cold water
- Increases the flow of urine and promotes sweating (to reduce water weight)
- Helps to cleanse the blood

- Should not be used if pregnant, lactating, diabetic or if suffering from cardiovascular difficulties
How to use burdock root
Herbal Tea (decoction): Place 1 teaspoon into a cup of water. Bring to boil and let simmer for 10-15 mins before straining. Drink up to three times a day.
